# Original Neuron and Synapse Teaching Geometry This model was authored for the Get Psyched Neuron Lab from anatomical references. It contains no imported mesh, atlas extraction, generated 3D asset, photograph, texture, or traced reference illustration. The neuron is a representative myelinated multipolar teaching form, rather than a measured reconstruction or a claim about every neuron. ## Geometry and References The soma is an irregular parametric membrane with six tapering, curved dendritic roots. Their secondary and tertiary branches have enlarged sparse spine cues. A single smoothly curved axon leaves a tapered hillock and uncovered initial region. Six rounded sheath segments surround its continuous shaft, with five intervening visible axonal gaps, lamellar edge cues, terminal branches, and ten boutons. A separate supporting glial cell and thin process connect to one displayed wrap. This association illustrates glial support; it does not imply that a glial cell always provides exactly one segment. These relationships were checked against [UTHealth Neuroscience Online, Chapter 8](https://nba.uth.tmc.edu/neuroscience/m/s1/chapter08.html), particularly sections 8.4–8.8 and 8.16. The synapse is an enlarged front cutaway of a curved presynaptic bouton, its incoming axon and release membrane, enclosed resting vesicles, the extracellular cleft, and a separate continuing receiving dendritic patch. Receptor proteins are embedded in the receiving membrane; differently shaped transporter proteins are embedded in the sender membrane. The dock/release coordinate guidance keeps intact vesicles in the sender and permits individual molecules to cross the gap. Vesicle fusion and release were checked against [UTHealth Chapter 5](https://nba.uth.tmc.edu/neuroscience/m/s1/chapter05.html), especially section 5.2. Electrical-event context was checked against [UTHealth Chapter 1](https://nba.uth.tmc.edu/neuroscience/m/s1/chapter01.html), sections 1.2–1.4. Presynaptic transporter placement for the illustrated reuptake route was also checked against [original transporter work, PMID 7907910](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7907910/); the broader neuronal/glial uptake distinction is recorded in [Basic Neurochemistry, Secondary Transport Systems](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK27929/). This is one clearance example, without a claim that every transmitter uses the same route. These sources validate geometry and process relationships; they do not expand the student lesson to their advanced scope. ## Provenance, License and Limitations The code and authored geometry are original work within this project. No outside geometry license or redistribution obligation is introduced. Existing Three.js software remains subject to its installed MIT license; no dependencies were added. Source URLs are scientific references, not asset downloads or permissions to reproduce their illustrations. Lengths, diameters, colors, spacing, sheath lamellae, vesicle counts, protein shapes, and particle coordinates are explanatory distinctions, not biological measurements. The glial cue does not identify a universal cell form or the number of segments each cell supports. The synapse cutaway removes front surfaces to reveal contents; the two cells retain distinct membranes. Extracellular matrix and unmodeled organelles/components are omitted. The empty visual cleft indicates the space between cells, rather than a claim that biological clefts contain no other material.
